SLAM: 13 February 2010

FNC July 2007

In the precursor to the SLAM, the South London Challenge, we have this shot of Morden station in May 2007

THE SLAM HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO ENGINEERING WORKS ON CROYDON TRAMLINK. A REPLACEMENT EVENT IS TO BE DECIDED.

A newcomer to the Tube Challenge events, the SLAM (South London All Modes) Challenge is for those who want to venture south of the River Thames.

Taking in all TfL routes south of the Thames (London Underground, London Overground, Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and Croydon Tramlink).

You can start at any station you want, between 12.00 and 12.15 on the day, and the clock starts when the doors on your starting train close (even if it’s north of the river) and finish when the doors open on your closing train at your final station (also even if you are north of the river*).

After you have completed the challenge, make your way to the Horse & Groom pub on Great Portland Street for the winners to be announced.

*If you arrive by foot or bus to your final SLAM station, you have to depart from that station by one of the methods of transport taken in by the SLAM (LU, LO, DLR or Tramlink) and your time stops when the doors open at the next station the train calls at.
